Product Description

1 out of 5 stars How to talk - not recieved   June 5, 2010

Although the seller is aware that I have not received the product and that it was not scanned by USPS, they have not sent me the book. After a month of waiting, I still do not have the book. They have however, contacted me to see if I would change my review of their services. There is no way to change my opinion if I have not even received what I have already paid for.

I bought this book as it was recommended by a counselor. Some of the information was helpful and very good, but I didn't care for the author's writing style.

The book wasn't what I expected. I just wanted to read something that would help not have to get a group of people together to discuss with the children their problem. Teens aren't going for this type of stuff.

With a house full of teenagers, I found this information helpful. Some details you might have read elsewhere, but as a first time reader of "teen help" books,it was an easy read that provided good insight for my husband and I.

This book was recommended to me while interviewing a professional for my book, "Strained Relations: Help for Struggling Parents of Troubled Teens." In fact, one psychologist and one coach mentioned it.

I read a few pages via the "look inside" feature, and was already hooked: I ran out to get it.

These authors provided so many tips and ideas that it's a must-read for parents and professionals. I found it to be a fast read and very clearly written. I started taking notes, then decided to keep a notepad with the page numbers I wanted to revisit. My list of pages was pretty long!

If you're struggling to understand your teen, worried about his/her future, this is one of the books at the top of the list. [...]
